It certainly worked, with Brad clocking a speed of 24.2 knots, the fourth top speed of the day. Catching a puff within the allotted three hour window, Brad set his PUMA Moth up to get the optimal speed halfway between Cascade Locks and Hood River, Oregon. Hood River is a popular spot for sailors, kite boarders and windsurfers.
The North Sails Dash-for-Cash followed shortly after, but with dying wins, the PUMA boys were not able to push as hard. Even though Brad and Glenn Raphael (AUS/UAE) did not take home the cash, it was a great event which brought in a good crowd of spectators.
Brad Funk (USA) and Glenn Raphael (AUS/UAE) are joining PUMA for the 2009 Moth World Championships in Cascade Locks, Oregon. Moth Worlds is one of the premier events in competitive dinghy sailing, attracting top-level sailors from around the globe. The entry roster includes countries such as the United States, Australia, Great Britain, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Japan, and Belgium. The event begins on Sunday with practice racing and scored racing on Monday.
