It's really, really hot!

It's hot, really hot and unfortunately it is not going to cool off at any point on this leg. In fact, it will probably get hotter! I'm sitting in the bow of the boat writing this brief blog, beneath the forward hatch of il mostro trying to stay out of the sun and at the same time catch a small breeze. If I put my left foot in just the right position I can occasionally get a tiny zephyr to blow across my toes.

It feels great but it's just never quite enough! Big picture, the story is much the same for the guys on deck right now as they fight for every scrap of breeze as we sail towards the southern tip of Sri Lanka before making a left hander and heading for the northern tip of Indonesia about 1000 miles away. I'm looking backwards out the hatch and I see Rob (Greenhauld) and Sid deep in concentration. Rob is a "newbie" to our il mostro team, he seems to be fitting in very nicely and I hope he enjoys the leg.
